Walter Buettel, CRPC®

Walt enjoys working with clients in various stages of their life to help them prioritize their goals with an effective financial plan and investment strategies. His professional passion is simplifying complicated topics and products to empower people to make decisions with confidence. Walt’s day-to-day client interaction is focused on implementing clients’ financial planning goals and monitoring progress.

Prior to joining Meritage, Walt worked for Voya Financial Advisors for 14 years as a Financial Planning Consultant. Walt has earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations and is a registered representative of Commonwealth Financial Network. He is also a licensed life and health insurance agent. Walt graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Outside of the office, Walt enjoys spending time outdoors running, skiing and completing triathlons. Walt resides in Marlborough, CT with his wife Caitlin and their children, Hazel, Rosie and Theo, as well as their dog Koa, a vizsla.
